Open Obedience Show

From 2002, held at Worthing Rugby Club, Angmering, West Sussex.

Previously held at Chesswood's Sports Field, Thakeham, West Sussex.

Our Open Obedience Show, held under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations G, is held on the second Sunday in June each year. The show opens at 8.30 am, with judging commencing at 9.30. The year 2000 saw our 30th Show - not bad for a primarily pet dog training club, with a comparatively small band of loyal helpers every year! The show consists of the following classes :

Prize Cards and Rosettes are awarded to Sixth Place in each class. Plaques are awarded to all First Place Winners, and various Special Prizes are on offer, as follows :

These Trophies are the property of the Club and must not be defaced in any way and must be returned upon request.
BEST RESCUE IN BEGINNERS
For the best rescue in Beginners
SILVA PENNY AWARD
Best Poodle in Beginners gaining 95% marks or more.
DANNY BOY AWARD
Best Gundog in Beginners (KC Breed Classification).
MEMBERS AWARD
For the Club Member attaining the highest percentage of marks in any class. Open to FDDTC members who have attended at least 20 training sessions in the last 12 months.
SHEPPIE TROPHY
For the Best Sheltie Dog in PreBeginners/Beginners.
SPICE TROPHY
For the Best Sheltie Bitch in PreBeginners/Beginners.
FINDON NEWS SHIELD
Inter-Club Award. A Club may enter as many teams as it wishes. Each team shall consist of three dogs, one dog in each of any of 3 different classes, e.g. Pre-Beginners, Novice, Class C. Team Entries to be made on the day of the Show to the appointed Steward. No charge will be made for Team Award entries. Team members are responsible for giving their results to the Award Steward. Team Entries close at the commencement of judging. Any handler with two or more dogs must nominate the team each dog is representing. Each dog may only be entered in one team and in one class on that team. Points will be given to the first 6 dogs in each Class/Part Class as follows: 6 pts for 1st, 5 pts for 2nd and so on down to 1pt for 6th place.
DORIS POWELL MEMORIAL TROPHIES
These Perpetual Challenge Trophies to be awarded to the Shetland Sheepdog (Dog) and Shetland Sheepdog (Bitch) attaining the highest percentage marks in any Class in the Show. In the event of a tie, the winner will be declared by drawing lots.
THE JANUS TROPHY
Donated by Joyce Stranger to the Golden Retriever attaining the highest percentage marks in any Class in the Show.

PERPETUAL CHALLENGE TROPHIES (Open to All)

These Trophies are the property of the Club and must not be engraved or defaced in any way and must be returned upon request.

PLEASE NOTE: Our Show venue is a Private Sports field. EVERY scrap of waste must be cleared up immediately and placed in the containers provided. The Dog Exercise Areas must be used and left clean.
